Meet Lauren.

Like the protagonist in Lauren Khan’s debut novel, she is a lawyer with a dream of becoming a published author. Lauren lived and worked in Manhattan for a decade before moving to her small beach hometown in Florida with her husband and baby. She is a graduate of Duke University and Fordham Law, and has worked as counsel to a range of corporate clients, from major financial institutions to emerging companies. Most recently, Lauren left her career at a prestigious Manhattan law firm to open her own practice alongside her husband.

A lifelong writer, Lauren has taken several classes at Gotham Writers Workshop and was a #RevPit finalist. She further honed her craft as a legal writing teacher’s assistant, managing editor of her law school journal, and editor-in-chief of her college magazine. Lauren has hosted a podcast, written for multiple online publications, reported from the red carpet at the Tony Awards, and completed a competitive internship at Rolling Stone Magazine. She also works with students on writing and editing their college and graduate school admissions essays.

When she isn’t reading or working on her second novel, Lauren is taking her baby for long walks, listening to writing podcasts, and watching romcoms set in New York City (Nora Ephron holds a particularly special place in her heart).
